Dear Fashionable Friends,
You owe yourself the love that you so freely give to other people.
This is a quote I tell myself oh so often. It is so easy to miss out on loving yourself in the midst of loving others. I am a lover you guys! When I love – I love for real, in both relationships and friendships. Around September I had to take a step back and remind myself that I needed love too.
I would often times pour so much love into relationships with others and when they would leave there wouldn’t be much there left to keep me happy. If you guys have been following me for a while you read a good dose of this story in my valentines day post that you can find HERE!
Honestly, it was when I stopped searching for home within others and lifted the foundations of home within myself that I found happiness. You can not be happy or love anyone else unconditionally until you first love yourself.
Some people may think this is a silly topic, loving yourself. As if we don’t all naturally love our self, right? Wrong! It is not as easy as it sounds and we often time do not devote the necessary time to pour into ourselves in the midst of working and trying to maintain relationships with others.
Babe, do you know you’re special? If no one else has told you lately, I am telling you now! No one person in this world will ever be able to duplicate or replace YOU. You are a one of a kind. The one and only YOU. And guess what.. You deserve to be loved not just by the people in your life but by the most important person in your life – YOU!
I know this can be challenging for many of us – including myself. When we are facing hardships and challenges especially. But this is when we need it the most! We practice self love so that we can push through our limiting beliefs and truly SHINE!
You can search for love in material things, relationships and so much more but it will not fulfill the void you are searching for. I’ve always loved myself and I’ve always loved others. But I have had to teach myself to not let the way others love me define who I am.
I realized that beauty cannot be defined, it is what you see it as and no one can make me feel bad about myself. I decided to follow my passion. You know the thing that gets you excited but scares you at the same time, DO IT! I learned to say NO. Saying no sometimes doesn’t make you a bad person, it makes you a smart person. Last but not least I learned to forgive myself! You know that thing you did one time that made you feel bad, embarrassed or ashamed? It’s to let that go! One thing in life you have to realize is that you can’t change the things you have done in the past but you can control your future. Look at it as a learning experience and believe in your ability to change.
Enough about love <3 Let me tell you a bit about what I’m wearing!
I LOVE this outfit and how stylish it made me feel on a fun, relaxed day out.
Off the shoulder tops are one of my current favorites and the bell sleeves just added so much personality. This top was a gift, but no worries I snagged the link and you can shop it HERE. Paired with my DIY cutoff shorts from a few summers back. But what I loved most about this outfit are my newest faux suede buckle heels I scored for under $40! And one day she discovered that she was fierce, strong, full of fire and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.
